Why Vaurien today?
This is an important question when we refer to a boat born more then half a century ago. When hearing the word Vaurien many people tend to imagine a very old-fashion boat still the way it used to be in the beginning. On this web-site we wish to give knowledge of Vaurien the way it is today. The boat is forever young, thanks to advices coming in from thousands of sailors and thanks to the coordination of the Technical Committee, in the original spirit of J.J Herbulot. Last year, after ISAF's agreement, the Vaurien now has the most important advancement after the use of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic). That is the new sails that came together with other cost-containing modifications, again thanks to the Vvaurien people. The Vaurien now is faster and cheaper! The main objective of the Class is to get more young people in the world sailing with the Vaurien.
On this new website you will find many information, not only from the National Associations, but also from the Vaurien People all over the world.
