Vaurien Class Rules updated!

Following the approval from World Sailing, the lastest version of the Vaurien Class Rules have been published.

Four changes have been made:

  1. Rule D.10 (a)(30) now reads „Depth of side benches from below the main thwart upper face — min – / max 25 mm“, clarifying that the side benches shall be equal or lower than the main thwart, but never be higher.
  2. Rule F.4.2 (a) now reads „The spar extrusion shall may include a fixed sail groove or track […].“; this allows the use of booms without track, e.g., round tubes.
  3. Rule C.10.4 (g) has been re-written after the latest changes to the ERS and now states that „The mainsail shall be set on the mast so that the highest visible point of the mainsail at the intersection with the trailing edge of the mast as indicated in Diagram C.10.4.1 shall not be higher than the upper point. This changes ERS B.1.1(a).
This changes the rule to the very common every-day application of the rule: We only need to check on the mast if the mainsail is below the measurement band.
  4. The last change is just an update references in the Class Rules.
